Locals Collective NYC
Locals is a collective space for surfers to share their experience over a quality cup of coffee. Life-long Rockaway residents and owners of Locals Surf School, Mike Reinhardt and Mike Kololyan founded Locals Collective with the aim of creating a place that could further unify the growing number of people who are discovering the Rockaways and it’s rich surf culture. At its core, Locals Collective operates as a modern, yet cozy cafe located right up the street from one on NYC’s best surfing beaches, perfect for grabbing a bite to eat or drink before and after surf sessions. Locals also offers a safe and comfortable place to change, shower, and store surf gear for the metropolitan surfer.
Beyond operations, our spirit is that of a learning center for those who want to improve their surfing, a cultural center for surf events, and a home-away-from home for locals and visitors alike. Join us in our collective mission to better the community through passion for surfing and a shared experience of Rockaway Beach.
